Why are images displaying sideways in my eMarketing campaign emails but are displaying correctly in the template?

If you have inserted an image into the campaign that was taken from a mobile device, it may display incorrectly.

This is due to metadata stored in the image being ignored by some internet browsers + email clients.

Metadata is added to images to tell other devices which way to display the image (e.g. if the image was taken in landscape but has been edited to display in portrait, the metadata advises devices to display the image correctly in portrait orientation).

When this metadata is ignored, the image is displayed in the original orientation.

To fix this, you must remove the metadata. This can be done by editing the image orientation in an image editor (e.g. MS Paint) and re-saving the image.

It can then be inserted back into the eMarketing template and will display correctly in the campaign emails.

Can emails from the MYP system be customised to come from our own nominated email address?

The email address can be adjusted to send with a custom name, but it will still include myp1.com in the domain.

    • Navigate to ARM Pro > Customisation > Brand, style + shortcuts
    • Select the ‘Edit’ icon next to ‘eMARKETING ‘FROM’ EMAIL ADDRESS’ + click ‘Confirm’ in the pop-up
    • Enter the desired name
    • Select ‘Save’

However, automated emails from the system have to go with MYP otherwise they are treated as being spoofed. This leads to potential issues such as blacklisting and increased likelihood of emails being treated as spam or being blocked by firewalls.

Generally emails get through without issue. The worst case scenario is that they go to junk or clutter and the user simply needs to approve them as legitimate in their Outlook or email software.
