Coming Soon – Permissions

We’re excited to introduce significant improvements to key permissions within ARM.

We’re making complex permissions more straightforward by breaking them down into specific, granular components. For instance, instead of broad ‘administer staff’ or ‘administer clients and contacts’ permissions, you’ll now have the ability to assign individual permissions like ‘edit staff,’ ‘edit staff permissions,’ ‘view staff,’ and ‘create staff. This gives you more precise control over who can see certain information and perform actions, whether it’s reserved for higher-level staff members or members of a specific team.

With this update, we’ve empowered users with more control when assigning permissions. If a user intentionally or accidentally assigns a specific permission, such as ‘Edit staff,’ without its essential counterpart, like ‘View staff,’ a warning message will now be displayed. Users can choose to either accept the recommended change or retain their current selection. This enhancement promotes more informed and error-proof permission management.

The upcoming changes will be rolled out in a manner that ensures everyone is initially granted their existing permissions equivalent to the new permission layout.

Users won’t have to individually apply or remove permissions for each staff member manually. Instead, they can conveniently utilise our ‘Batch Permissions’ functionality, as explained in our permissions training, to make these adjustments in bulk. This approach simplifies the transition and streamlines the management of permissions.

In addition to this, we are introducing the capability to customise the ‘quick edit’ panel, tailoring it to display only pertinent information regarding staff and contacts. This customisation will significantly enhance privacy and compliance by limiting information displayed that is relevant to each user.

Our ultimate goal is to empower you with precise control over permissions, making it easier and more efficient to manage access, privacy, and security within your system. Lastly, if you require personalised training, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our client services team.
